Denis Patrick Eagan

Denis Patrick Eagan

Denis Patrick Eagan, age 58, suddenly passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021. Denis was a friend to everyone who knew him.  He had an infectious smile and a playful spirit. Denis liked to tease and joke around with those he loved. He enjoyed watching sports and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Denis loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, or scuba diving with his brother and dive partner, Lorenzo. He had a generous heart that he got from his mother and enjoyed spending time wood working in the shop with his father. Denis loved being an Uncle to Amelia and Daniel and playfully teasing his “baby” sister, Kelly. He also enjoyed working and joking with his coworkers and friends at the Winn-Dixie in Chelsea Al, where he was a part of the management team, Denis loved a glass of bourbon, a good cigar and the company of his friends and family. Denis enjoyed donating to children in need of school supplies.

He is survived by his parents, Nora and James Eagan; brother, Lorenzo J. Eagan; sister, Kelly Dawn Ledyard; niece, Amelia Eagan Fuller; nephew, Daniel Eagan Fuller; and numerous friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 24 2021 in the chapel of Charter Funeral Home. The service will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a gathering for refreshments.  In lieu of flowers if you would like to make a donation to the school children of the Epic School “Back to School” program on behalf of Denis Eagan and the Cigar Men of Distinction we have set up a go fund me page at https://gofund.me/757f02a3

  4. Praying for God’s comfort for the family, Denis was so much more than a co-worker he was a friend, he was family . He loved picking on me and as he would say I was always busting his chops . Our hearts are breaking I miss him coming through the office door with with a smile on his face and a cup of coffee in each hands . As he would say he taught us to fish and his glass was always half full (not half empty) I will always hold many happy memories in my heart
And know I am a better person for having known him.
