James Aubry Walker

James Aubry Walker, 93, of Calera went to see his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 18, 2019. For over 72 years, he was a loving husband to his wife, Bobbie, 94 years old who he leaves here on earth to continue to be a testimony of God’s saving grace. He was known as daddy to two daughters and sons-in-laws, Connie and Wayne Atchison of Alabaster and Donna and Mike Catchings of Savoy, Texas. His 6 grandchildren, their spouses, and 13 great-grandchildren were honored to call him Pappaw. God called him into the ministry and he served faithfully with Youth for Christ, the Wales Gobel Ministries and Lay Witness Missions. He was also a WWII Veteran and served in the Army Signal Corp with General MacAuthur. His love for His Savior has led many to the saving knowledge of Jesus. We have been honored to know such a Godly man who we will be reunited with in heaven. His earthly final resting place will be the National Veteran’s Cemetery in Montevallo Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 1:15 p.m. Thank you to Charter Funeral Home, Shelby Brookwood Baptist Hospital, Chaplains, Nurses and Doctors and Hospice of Shelby County.
