Christopher Michael Whitfield
“On Saturday May 28, 2022, Christopher Michael Whitfield passed away in his home. Born in Alabaster, Alabama, on March 13, 1973, Chris spent the majority of his 49 years of life in Shelby County. As a young man, Christopher served as a military policeman for 4 years. After retiring from service, Chris moved himself and his family back to the area, where he worked as a carpenter up until his death. Christopher was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dan and Ruth Whetstone; his paternal grandparents, Toby and Francis Whitfield; and his father, Michael L. Whitfield. Family members describe Chris as hard-working, loving, and family-oriented. His children have expressed that they knew their father loved them unconditionally, and that all he ever wanted to do was be there for them. All those that knew Christopher speak of his joyful spirit and the laughter and love that he brought to every relationship. Hoping to carry on the love and life that Christopher inspired in them, he is survived by his children, Michael and Ashli Whitfield; his grandchildren, Brody, Isabella, Carter, Kora, and Kai; his siblings, Aimee Bullock, Misty Whitfield, and Shannon Whitfield; his mother, Dana Walden; and his stepmother, Vicky Whitfield. The service for Chris will be held on June 8, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home, and the family asks that all come to celebrate the joy and light of Chris’s life.”
