Carol Matherson Sumlerin, age 73, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in Alabaster, AL. She was born on December 17, 1948 to parents Lester and Kathryn Matherson, both preceding her. Carol is survived by her Husband of 22 years, Sidney Sumerlin; her daughters, Angelia Lawley (Terry), Summer Rivera, and Alexus Garza; son, Christopher Garza; sisters, Marie Grant and Shirran Mauldin (Jerry); brother, Larry Matherson, Leonard Matherson (Betty), and Greg Matherson (Patricia); grandchildren, Jessica Matthew, Elyssia, Logan, Dillan Emiliea, Estevan; great grandchildren, Hayden, Tatum, Tyler, Dallas & Baby Boy on the way.
Carol will be missed by a host of friends and family.
Services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in the Charter Funeral Home Chapel. A Visitation will be held at 6 pm followed by a service at 7 pm.
Brother Otis Mitchell will be officiating.
