Merry Lou Webb
Merry Lou Webb, age 72, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at her home in Calera, Al.
Merry is preceded in death by her parents, Carl & June Webb; daughter, Kelly Loriann Blackburn; son, Larry Joe Kilgore; brothers, Carl Webb, Ernie Webb and Bobby Webb and sisters, Barbara Webb and Norma Alexander.
Merry is survived by sisters, Peggie Higgins (Jim), Alma Tipton (Rich), Claudia Tate (Steve), Holly Fleming, Jeri Garrett (Larry), Pat Miller (Tim); brother, Jim Phillips (Kay); granddaughters, Misty Fowler (Jake), Monica Blackburn and Bailey Blackburn; 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind her twin sister, Holly. Lifelong best friends, they shared a special relationship that few ever get to enjoy.
Merry was known by “Granny” to everyone, and would often introduce herself by saying “my name is Merry, but you can call me Granny!” She will be remembered as one of the most fun loving people you’d ever meet. She could make everyone laugh and would often laugh herself while doing it! She was kind hearted and loved children. She will also be remembered for her cooking. She made the best gravy biscuits ever and her “Aunt Merry beans” (Pinto Beans) were famous. Chicken and dumplings were another specialty that will be missed.
When Merry was young she loved to listen to country music on the radio and sing along. Although singing was not her specialty, she loved music. If you grew up with Merry, she was the one you wanted with you as a protector, especially in the dark. She was the bravest of all her sisters.
A bright spot in so many people’s lives, she will be greatly missed here on Earth, but Heaven has welcomed a new angel.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
