Maxey Baird
Maxey Baird of Birmingham, AL passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. He was born July 29, 1935 in South Hill, Virginia.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda who cared for him faithfully until the end; daughter Christy Miller and son-in-law Dan; and grandchildren Taylor, Baird, and Jack Miller.
Maxey served in the U.S. Army, fought in the Korean War and was later stationed in Panama. He worked for 43 years in telecommunications and retired from both Contel and Nortel. He was a member of the Independent Telephone Pioneer Association.
Interment will be at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 2:45 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held afterwards at 4:30 p.m. at Indian Springs First Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the staff of Oasis Hospice for their love and care. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Oasis Hospice or Indian Springs First Baptist Church.
