Anthony Samuel “Sammy” Plaia, , age 49, of Alabaster, AL, went to be with Jesus Saturday, July 2, 2016. He was employed by the Social Security Administration for 26 years. His survivors include his wife of 14 years, Dr. Sharon Gray; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Plaia; mother, Denise Plaia; sisters, Krista Linholm (James) and Lisa Myrick (Kevin); mother-in-law, Martha Gray; father-in-law, Jack Gray (Stephanie); brother-in-law, Paul Gray (Cheri); sisters- in-law, Melanie Goodwin (Josh) and Gwen Gray (Kat); niece, Samantha Linholm and nephews, Jacob Linholm and Jackson Myrick. Sammy was predeceased by his father, Sam Plaia. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016 with a Celebration of Sammy’s Life to follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Christ the King Lutheran Church, Riverchase.
