September 18, 1937 – December 27, 2018

Bobbie Jean Shifflett, age 81, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018.  She is predeceased by her parents, John and Ethel (Brown) Martin; her loving husband of 52 years, Charles Willard Shifflett; son, Charles Willard Shifflett, Jr.; brother, Ray Martin; sisters, Faye Gray, Carolyn Smith, Lucy Bailey, and Dorothy Martin; and grandson, Terry Lynn Parks, Jr. She is survived by sons, Frankie Parks, Terry Parks (Malinda), and Billy Parks (Sandra); daughters, Karen Jackson (James), Melissa Peterson (Roosevelt), and Tina Mitchell; brothers, Calvin Martin, Ruel Martin, and Jackson Martin (Marie); sister, Eva Nix (Jimmy); and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., followed immediately by a funeral service, both in the chapel of Charter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bryan Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 2600 Valleydale Road, Hoover, Alabama  35244 .
