Gwendolyn “Gwen” Faye Horton, age 76, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Buddy and Elma Payne; sons, Eddie and Gene Dawson; and daughter Angela Lesley. Gwen is survived by her loving husband, Samuel Horton; sons Charles Atchison, Jr. (Jeannette) and Kent Atchison (Kay); and a host of grandkids and great –grandkids. There will be a funeral service Tuesday, September 28, 2021 held in the Charter Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held at 11:30 am followed by a service at 12:30 pm. Gwen will be laid to rest in the Alabama National Cemetery at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to Dementia Society of America in Gwen’s name.
