Keith Derrell Petty, age 71 of Hoover, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents Orwin Earl Petty and Beverly Lavonne (Kilian) Petty. He is survived by his loving partner, Eva Sasser; daughters, Erika Cross (Alan), and Michelle Petty; granddaughters, Ashtyn Cross and Avery Thompson; grandsons, Peyton, Keiran, and Caelan Cross; brother, Ray Petty (Anne); half-sister, Yvonne Pringle (Tom); half-brother, Troy Petty (Judy); nieces, Kristen Dowd (Ben) and Lauren Moynihan (Tim); half-niece, Melissa Maines; and Eva’s son Brian Miller (Cindy) and grandsons Baylor, Ben, Teddy and Philip. Keith graduated from Samford University and had a long & successful banking career with Southtrust Bank where he retired as President of Southtrust Bank of Ozark. Keith proudly served in the Army National Guard of Alabama for 24 years before retiring. He was also an avid music lover, musician, biker, generous soul and a friend to many. He loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. A memorial graveside service will be held in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at Timberline Golf Club, 300 Timberline Trail, Calera, Alabama 35040, Exit 228 off I-65.
