September 8, 1975 – May 2, 2018

Today we meet to give honor and glory to our Holy God and to thank Him for His gift of David in our lives.  According to the Word, from the foundation of the world, our Lord ordained David as a gift to me.  David has been a source of inspiration to me and others in his dedicated work ethic.  Many times after his bout with cancer in 2013, he struggled to work because of health issues.  He never wanted to disappoint his clients.  On March 14, while attempting to dress for work, he realized he could not support his weight with his right leg.  He phoned his trusted friend Gary for help asking to be taken to UAB Highlands.  David was a creative artist, taking other’s cast offs and repurposing them for friends.  He was a loyal friend to many and gave totally of himself to those he loved throughout his life.  I’m grateful for this gift of a loving son for 42 years.  Thank you to family and friends who showed your love for him with gifts, food, cards and visits.  Although he was often too sick to remember your visits afterwards, I could tell he felt loved by each during the visit.

“But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your hand.”  Isaiah 64:8

  1. David, my sweet friend. You have shared your time, ears, hands so many times through the years. Time when you watched after Billy when my husband got fired and needed to go to an interview and I needed to work….. Ears as you listened to the frustration as well as the happiest of moments of my life. Hands, as you shared unique design for all others to see with this crazy hair of mine. Sweet friend I will miss you for a long time. Truly

  2. Dear family,

I’m so sorry for the loss of your beloved David. May the God of all comfort give you peace to help you cope during this difficult time. We look forward to seeing our dead loved ones again in the righteous paradise here on earth very soon. Acts 24:15; Psalm 37:29

  3. Where was David laid to rest? I had no idea he had passed until a few months later. I would like to visit his grave and pay my respects.
