Gary Frank Jackson

Gary Frank Jackson, age 75, passed from this life to his heavenly home on September 19, 2018, after a long battle with Lewy Body dementia and Parkinson’s disease. He worked in mortgage banking and real estate for many years. Gary was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, serving on the administrative board, also a member of JOY Sunday School class and served as an usher. He was a member and past president of the Mountain Brook Exchange Club. He coached all three of his children in Mountain Brook Community Sports. A University of Alabama alumnus, Gary was an avid Alabama football, basketball and baseball fan, as well as a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. He loved music. He loved his wife of 53 years, Judy, with all his heart and he deeply loved and enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, never missing a ballgame or event. Gary is survived by his wife, Judy Taft Jackson; daughter, Robin Jackson Ladner; sons, Jeffrey Michael Jackson (Cathrene) and Steven Alan Jackson (Ashley); grandsons, Jacob Ladner (Erika) and Braden Ladner (Kristin); granddaughter, Macy Ladner; grandson, Nathan Ladner; granddaughters, Raleigh Ladner, Hazel Jackson, Clara Jackson, and Madeline Jackson; grandsons, Quinn Jackson, Nolen Jackson and Rickey Jackson; 4 great grandchildren; brother, James Gregory Jackson, 1 niece, 2 nephews and many friends that he cherished. Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Era Smith Jackson; father, James Clifford Jackson and brother, John Charles Jackson. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on September 24, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church, visitation will be from 09:30 – 11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be made in Gary’s name to LifeSource, Inc. 1103 5th Ave SW Decatur, AL. 35601:
