H. Preston Reid, born May 27, 1935 passed away peacefully on February 15, 2017. He was surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by his brother, Olen (Pat); sister, Carol; daughter, Linda (Eddie); son, Steven; daughters, Pam Tyler (Brian), Barbie Arnold (Steve);  granddaughters,  Kristi, Kerri (Anthony), Lori; great grandson,  Jakob;  grandchildren, Anna, Amy, Butch (Heather), Robin (Jay) and  David; great grand children, Justin, Austin, Andrew, Bella, Archer, Andrew and Alden. He is preceded in death by his parents,  mother, Hattie Day Reid; father,  Hubert Milton Reid; son, David, his first wife,  Judy Reid; second wife, Joyce Wood Reid and his brother, Jake. Preston was in the Army for a short period of time, when he came out he, his wife Judy, and daughter Linda joined 1st Baptist Church of Center Point. He was a deacon for 20 years. Preston provided for his family by working in the bakery business for 32 years. His family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice especially Bethany and Stephanie who made his last day and hours peaceful. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Alzheimer’s Association. Service and viewing will take place Saturday February 18, 2017 at Cultivate Church 395 1st Street SW Alabaster, AL 35007. Viewing and refreshments are from 11-1pm, with service following right after at 1pm. There will not be a graveside service. Charter funeral home of Calera is directing.
