Horace Melvin Massey, age 78, passed away in the morning hours of Friday, June 5, 2020.  He is predeceased by his parents, Horace and Glittis Massey.  Brother Massey is survived by his loving wife of almost 61 years, Annette Massey; daughters, Danette Lindsey (Ken), Melita Conn (Greg), both of Alabaster, AL; sons, Dennis Massey (Rhonda) of Graysville, AL, Victor Massey (Jamie) of Sumiton, AL; brothers, Roger Massey (Peggy), Danny Joe Massey (Cathy), Terry Massey (Marsha); sister, Debbie Burnett (James); 10 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at the Pelham Church of God on Monday, June 8, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.  Brothers Victor Massey, Alton Bristow and H.E. Lefever officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery.  Charter Funeral Home entrusted.

We attend the Paris, Texas Church of God. Heaven gained another angel in his passing and I know the Family will miss him but our prayers are with you all.

Cousin Melvin, you were a great man of God. You will be missed on this earth, but your Heavenly homecoming is glorious. You are now in the presence of our almighty God. Praise Him. Love you so much. Prayers for the family for peace and strength.

  13. Brother Massey was the first preacher I ever heard preach and he preached so many of my loved ones funerals. I am saddened for the loved ones he has left but I am happy for him because he has received his crown and he is walking the streets of gold! Praying for you and your family Mrs Annette.
