Jason Neil Barbour

February 12, 1973 – August 6, 2019

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Jason Neil Barbour, age 46, passed away at home in Texas. His death is attributed to a massive coronary attack.  Jason is preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Skelton.  He is survived by his father, Jack Barbour (step-mother, Kaye); brother, Ian Barbour (Sherry); sisters, Tina Hall Kling (Rick), Tera Hall; nephew, Christian Barbour; and niece, Haley Barbour.  Jason had many friends throughout the JBSA-Randolph community as he retired from the United States Air Force as a MSgt in 2013 and then joined the Civilian Operations Division in 2018.  His Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Charter Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Alabama National Cemetery at 1:15 p.m.

  1. After nearly 37 years in the US Air Force, I can count the best NCO’s I’ve known on one hand…Jason Barbour is in that group. He was dedicated, motivated, kind, trustworthy and was an example of what being an NCO is all about. With everything he did, he worked hard to be a perfect as he could be. He was exceptional as an Honor Guard member. He was exceptional as my enlisted aide. He had a positive and lasting effect on everyone who knew him. I am very fortunate to have known and served with Jason Barbour. His passing is a terrible loss for all of us. May he rest in peace.

  2. I was stationed with Jason at Kelly AFB in the early 90’s. We use to frequent the mall where he liked Elton but stylish clothes. I also remember arguing football with him since he was a big Alabama fan. He was a sweet man with a good heart. Learning of his passing is hard but I know he is in a better place.
